' What Would Life Be, If We Had No Courage To Attempt Anything' (Vincent Van Gough)
House shopping, exciting, especially in a new land. We chose Ireland. It is a beautiful country and We both have Irish heritage and we felt we should explore that a little more.
We initially felt Dublin was a good choice, as we weren`t at that time looking to move lock stock and barrel, so a flat to rent out and then to use in the future seemed sensible. We visited Dublin regularly on our quest to find the right property. We viewed plenty of apartments en masse which was a new concept to us, and we put in a couple of offers on apartments that needed a spruce up but otherwise lovely, only to find the process is like bidding on ebay and we were never the highest bidder. We then visited an apartment in a gated area in Dublin 7, an up coming area bustling and alot of cafe culture. It was a hot day and the agent, a young guy was late, rushed over to us and took us into this apartment that he hadn`t seen before saying ' I don`t know much about this one, my colleague looks after it and he`s on holiday' Lets just say it was less than impressive, and clearly the agent thought so too. The apartment clearly wasn`t for us, we were stood talking and the agent opened the window he needed air he was suited up and after a stressful viewing, he said look at the view, look at the houses, the view was of the prison, the houses were a mix of boarded up and well kept, he said in this flat you would hear everything that happened in that prison, sirens, fights lockdowns, He said, ' I don`t understand why people buy in Dublin City and pay a fortune, you are better looking further out where money buys more and great transport links' We appreciated his honesty, although,he wont sell much property with that advise. So, with that after 3 years of looking we started to look further afield, and even then we cant deny we saw some shockers but our search paid off. We looked to Wexford and this is where we found our home. However, we would also have to move.
So, on Boxing Day or St Stephens day 2019 our adventure began to the sunny South East.
Kelly (me), my partner Rob and our dog Bodhi made the move from Southampton UK to Ireland

I remember it well, the weather was so so stormy ( quite frankly it could have been a sign to say don`t do it ) we travelled in 2 cars (almost 40 mph all the way) with basically our whole life in material effects on each roof. making our way to the Pembroke docks to get the ferry to Rosslare.
We arrived at our new house at 4am absolutely shattered, 2 cars full of stuff, no job, a house that was new to us, an area we had only really holidayed (if thats even a word) in and no idea what was in front of us. Quite something when I think .back.
When we arrived, it was pitch black so we hunted out our air bed and sleeping bags and kipped down for about an hour before we realized the air bed had a puncture, was this a sign of things to come?
